The inspiration for this sculpture was a model at a 2006 Figure Drawing Studio conducted by noted Hawaii artist Chuck Davis at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. A pen and ink drawing by the sculptor from that session was the reference for the sculpture. The raspberry alabaster was shipped from Canada.
