Yoke

$6,800

The giant Yoke tree that supplied the wood for this sculpture was grown at Foster Garden in Honolulu. The tree was removed due to instability and was later milled in Kahaluu. The wood slab was air cured in the artist’s studio. The inspiration for the sculpture was from a Honolulu Chinatown lei maker. The young lady saw the artist staring at her and returned a defiant look. Calm was restored when the artist explained that he was captivated by her lines for a sculpture.
